Dr. Tanika Long is a native of Barnesville! She attended the local schools, university in Atlanta, and completed her medical training in Philadelphia. She knows the source of her success is her faith in Christ, family, and people God placed along her journey to assist, encourage, and inspire! She is currently married, started a family of her own, and moved back to GA in 2021. She is currently the head of her anesthesia department at a local hospital in the Atlanta area. The Lord laid it on her heart to create Full Circle of H.O.P.E. Inc and to recruit like minded individuals to be the H.O.P.E. (Helping Our People Excel) that other socioeconomically disadvantaged students from Lamar County can see, be inspired by, and strive to surpass! Her prayer is that this organization help these children and their families physically, socially, educationally, and spiritually. She is a product of Barnesville! She once was that socioeconomically disadvantaged youth who lived in public housing and had every strike against her according to society’s standards. Dr. Long is the first African American female from Barnesville to become a medical doctor! She desires for every child from Lamar County to know that just as she was able to overcome the above-stated obstacles with God's help and to accomplish this goal, anyone else can as well!
